Jason Thomas had always been obsessed with the ghost stories he'd watched on television from the time he was a kid. He'd always dreamed of visiting those haunted places, and playing amateur ghost hunters with his best friend Wade. As they grew older, Jason's fascination with ghosts grew as well, and he'd drag Wade along to different haunted houses or hotels, always hoping to see an actual ghost. Wade Rivers loved spending time with Jason, even if it meant he'd have to endure another creepy, supposedly haunted location. Friends since they were kids, and always inseparable, Wade's feelings for Jason deepened from friendship into something more. Unfortunately, so did his fear of the places Jason wanted to explore. The chance to spend a weekend alone in a famous haunted house was too much for Jason to resist, and almost too much for Wade to endure. He knew going to the deserted house was everything Jason had ever dreamed of, so Wade tried to put his fears aside. But when paranormal things start to happen, admitting to Jason how he feels suddenly isn't the scariest thing Wade will encounter.

Cavas lives in the tenements, and he’s just about ready to sign his life over to the king’s army. His father is terminally ill, and Cavas will do anything to save him. Introduction:The murder of Quentin'¬"s lover for daring to '¬Scome out'¬ devastates Quentin and he shields himself as best he can from the past, choosing a life of relative solitude. Resigning himself to a life alone, Quentin does not anticipate meeting a young man who shares his passions. Drawn to this man, Quentin realizes how much he misses having someone special in his life, and he longs for the days which he shared with his former lover. Hesitant to act on feelings which he was certain had died along with his former lover, Quentin is torn between these renewed feelings and his fear of being deeply hurt again. Excerpt:Quentin'¬"s house was quite large in Ely'¬"s opinion and very well kept, at least from the outside. When they entered, Ely almost gasped. The house was beautiful, adorned with the most exquisite antiques Quentin had inherited from his grandparents and parents, and some he had discovered himself. Quentin could see the awe in Ely'¬"s expression and for some reason felt as if he needed to impress this new friend. He recounted how he had amassed such an exquisite collection and how his grandparents had left most of the antiques to his parents who in turn gave them to Quentin. Quentin loved the intricate painting and etchings of the collection, and Ely was learning more than he had expected and loving every minute of it. ********He had fallen asleep thinking about Quentin again and his reaction to his touch yesterday, and thought he was dreaming when he felt the warm touch of a hand on his bare chest. In his dream it was Quentin'¬"s hand and he liked the feel of it on his nakedness. As he dreamed he thought he could feel himself moving up, hoping that the hand would move downward to where he was beginning to experience the same arousing feeling he had felt last night in the warm water of his bath. He realized that the hand wasn'¬"t going anywhere, and someone was calling his name. '¬SEly, Ely,'¬ the voice said. Ely awoke with a start, and realized that it was Quentin'¬"s hand on his chest trying to wake him. ********As Ely was searching for some of Quentin'¬"s favorite books to take along, in a small corner of the library underneath a copy of Moby Dick was a letter addressing Quentin as '¬SThe Love of My Life.'¬ Ely hated snooping like this, but thought that perhaps its contents held some of the answers to Quentin'¬"s debilitative state. He began to read it. It was from two years ago, from a man who had loved Quentin very much. Apparently, Quentin and this man had taught at a school in San Antonio together. From the sketchy timeline Ely could piece together, it appeared that they had had an intimate relationship for around three years. Apparently, some of the students were very opposed to homosexuals, and Quentin'¬"s lover was very outspoken about his being gay. For Quentin'¬"s sake, however, he never mentioned that he was his lover, and they always met in very secretive locations. As he skimmed the rest of the letter, as it was quite lengthy, Ely came to the last page which was very disturbing. It described the man'¬"s feelings for Quentin, but it also indicated that a group of male students had seen them sneak off together one night and had followed them to their secret hiding place. He had ended the letter by telling Quentin that he had heard that these students were planning to kill them, and the word '¬Sfag'¬ was used often in their conversation.
